This week brought my 2 week check up from radiation. It was nice to see everyone again :) After having been there every day for 8 weeks I was going through withdrawals! Well not quite.
The good news is that my skin is almost completely healed. Actually, to me that is amazing. Going from a huge patch of no skin that was oozing and icky, plus other areas that were blistered, to having skin again is a big deal. One thing that the doc said that I found amusing was "we don't want these scabs to dry up and start to come off". He never ceases to amaze me with the stuff he says. Still, he changed the cream I was to use, and now, 2 days later, the scabs are gone. They didn't dry up and come off either, so I guess it's just magic!
Since I wasn't yet "completely healed", I get another follow up. They made it for a month from now, which I guess means they really want it to be completely healed, so they don't have to make ANOTHER appointment. For now it sounds like I'm kind of in the clear. He said I could start my new medication whenever, but I think I'll wait a week or so. You know, just to make sure I'm completely healed :)
