Reading through my cancer devotional book again and finding new things :) The poem today is from Mary Prentiss Smith's "Lean Hard". I changed the masculine pronouns to feminine ones :)
Child of My love, lean hard,
And let Me feel the pressure of thy care;
I know the burden, child, I shaped it:
Poised it in My own hand, made no proportion
In it's weight to thine unaided strength;
For even as I laid it on, I said
I shall be near, and while she leans on Me,
This burden shall be Mine, not hers.
When the burden seems too heavy, I need to remember, that's because it wasn't designed for me to carry on my own. It was designed for me to give it up, and lean hard on the One who cares for me most.
